Deep Sea

Through this piece, I wanted to raise awareness of the deep sea as well as appreciate the wonder of nature. The staircase in the middle invites researchers, enticing them to explore the fascinating species that live deep beyond our reach. I translated my love for science by exploring the fascinating creature, blood—belly comb jellyfish, with its’ unique shape and the ability to turn black captivates me. In this piece, the girl personifies a jellyfish, as can be seen from the lower half of her body. I wanted to express that we would not survive without such biodiversity and thank nature for the bountiful gifts it has given us.
